Saying so long is never easy, but after 19 years of volunteering at KSER, Saturday, July 25, 2009 was my final show.
When I first started at KSER, I was a young fellow pursuing my dream of being a radio disc jockey. Now some 19 years later, it is time to follow a new direction.
I'd like to thank Stu Witmer, our first Music Director for giving me the opportunity to share my love of music over the airwaves. Also, thanks to Nancy Keith, our first Station Manager, for her early vision in bringing KSER to the community. Another thank you goes out to Ed Bremer, who has hung in there through it all.
I have had the pleasure of knowing some great folks over the years, and I have been so fortunate to have worked with so many talented people. Special thanks goes out to the Dawg, as he and I have been on a long strange trip for so many years. Thanks also to the other long-time music hosts I've had the opportunity to work with.
My journey has traveled an interesting road at KSER. When I first started in 1991, my program EXPOSURE aired on Tuesdays at 1:00 AM following Early Music (Gregorian Chant music) hosted by Stu Witmer. I moved over to Wednesdays, following African Airwaves with Doug Patterson, then I moved to Thursday nights, following first Nick Vigarino, and then Clancy Dunnigan and "Clancy's Bar 'n' Grill". I moved over to Fridays, where I worked with the legendary Dave Moody following his "Pastures of Plenty" program. Jeff Hofman moved into the Friday slot and for a long run, it was Dusties, EXPOSURE and the Dawghaus. Lots of fun and crazy times back in the day...
In July 2007, I switched shows, from EXPOSURE to ONE MORE SATURDAY NIGHT which has been a lot of fun. It's been nice hearing from all the Deadheads in our community.
Lastly, I would like to thank all the listeners, volunteers and supporters of KSER, who over the years, have been so gracious enough to allow me the opportunity to share my musical tastes with you.
